Becoming an IHCenter Member Project
Are you or your group working hard to make positive change in the areas of planetary or local ecology, humanitarianism, education, or social justice? Are you overwhelmed with the minutiae of day-to-day accounting and tax burdens? Do you recognize the benefit of operating under the auspices of a 501[c](3) nonprofit charity in order to pass a benefit on to your supporters? Are you dedicated to your project? Are you confident in your ability to manage the real work of your project? Are there supporters who are prepared to donate toward its success? If so, you may wish to apply for consideration as a sponsored project of International Humanities Center (IHCenter).
IHCenter is an incubator for nonprofit projects focused on establishing a kinder, more harmonious experience for people and planet. We are wholly dedicated to empowering dedicated people and projects that share this mission. Our role is to serve as a fiscal sponsor. This means that we take responsibility for managing the finances of our sponsored projects, as well as preparing all filings and documents required by local, state, and federal authorities. In other words, we handle the “red tape”, so that you can do the "heart work".
IHCenter will consider any project, large or small, long-term or short, in any geographic region. While there are specific categories under which our nonprofit status is qualified, most endeavors that fall within environmental/ecological, humanitarian, and social justice spheres are acceptable. Once your project is reviewed and deemed in alignment with our charter, we'll take the process to the next level, which is where we'll interview you, and the principle members of your team, as desired. After all, it's your project and your vision. We simply need to be assured that you are serious, and prepared to manage it. Should our cooperative assessment of your plan and team reveal areas where you need help, our growing network of participants may be able to provide a solution.

If you're seriously interested, download the Proposal for Project Sponsorship, provided in MS Word format. Return the completed application to apply@IHCenter.org. We'll then acknowledge receipt and tell you when our next review period will be held.

Please Note: Due to our need to expand staff and implement promised improvements in our service to currently sponsored programs, we began charging a US$200.00 activation fee for incoming programs effective 1 May 2005. Please be aware that payment is due upon program approval.
